Sessions renames to The Faculty

By David Bowser 1st July 2021

We’re pleased to announce that we have renamed Sessions to The Faculty.

Renaming to The Faculty reflects the evolution in the recruitment services we have provided for over 13,000 educators over the past 4 years. From full-time, face-to-face, to part-time and sessional remote facilitator positions, the role of an educator can now take many forms.

When it comes to teaching and facilitating online, particularly in light of the experiences of the past year, it is now widely understood that to teach online effectively requires a unique set of skills and competencies, distinct from those of face-to-face lecturing. At the same time, institutions worldwide now increasingly need access to a flexible talent pool of educators and subject matter experts to develop quality learning materials and support student numbers to scale. Our rebranding reflects our commitment to developing the skills and competencies of this talent pool as part of a supportive network.

Changing our name to The Faculty also reflects our future aspirations for how we as a platform can create better quality connections between academics and institutions, everywhere. We are excited to share our plans for our next phase of growth. Over the coming months, we will introduce the professional development resources to support academics and industry professionals alike to improve their teaching skills, alongside the collaboration tools to support the growth of a thriving, global community of educators.

We look forward to collaborating with current and new Faculty educators on this journey.
